JFK...When was the last time you saw it???
I actually visited JFK yesterday for the first time in 20 years!!! WOW. Some things haven't changed, some things have, and what will be happening this summer will be a wonderful addition. The new Dillman Center is to be constructed over the summer break, (visit http://www.kennedyhs.org/ to learn more). This will give the students a place to go, other than the cafeteria...Did you know JFK has been a closed campus...yes for the entire school, since 1991? Did you know that there is no longer a student lounge on the 2nd floor? I was able to give my daughter (she's 10) a brief tour. She was impressed with the actual size, and that we had to climb up and down so many steps each day. I noticed the earthquake upgrades to the outer walkways, and found that the two computer areas on the second floor was a far cry to what we had available to us 20 years ago. I also noticed how much "the ROCK" has grown over the years...with hundreds of layers of paint, it seemed twice the size I remember it being! I'm not sure if we will have access to the entire school for the day of our event so that you too can tour the place...but it would be cool for everyone to be able to see it again. They may have it all locked up due to construction. We'll let you know when our event gets closer.

Well it appears that no one - besides myself and a few others I see - comes and donates to KATCH - held every year at the school. We all sold chocolate - now that we are older we can donate goods to be auctioned - or better yet - go to the open auction night and buy something. Friday s free and they sell beer and wine. How many times do you wish you could drink while in the gym?
